We are honored to invite you to a very special Rudra Pūjā Immersion led by Śrī Raghu Ranganathan, a senior teacher at Bhaskara Prakasha Ashram. Raghu Gurujī has studied the Vedas and the Śrī Vidyā tradition since childhood, and he teaches and also leads large-scale yajñas and pūjās around the world. It is our great privilege to participate in this ceremony with him.
This particular Vedic ceremony for Rudra worships all five faces of Lord Śiva simultaneously: Sadyojāta, Vāmadeva, Aghora, Tatpuruṣa, and Īśāna. This is the same ceremony that is performed for Lord Paśupatinātha in Kathmandu, Nepal and is one of the oldest forms of worship for Lord Śiva.
When all five aspects of Lord Śiva are worshipped, it is said that we receive his darśana in one of his most benevolent and powerful forms: Sāmba Parameśvara – the Supreme Lord united with his Śakti, our Divine Mother. As the Lord of Yoga and the source of compassion, we receive innumerable blessings and deep wisdom by engaging in this practice.
Raghu Gurujī will be teaching and guiding us throughout the pūjā. You are invited to bring your copies of the Rudram and Puruṣa Sūktam if you would like to chant along.
