A traditional way to impart both the wisdom and energy of these divine teachings is through sacred art. The following video is a traditional kathak performance of the Gaṇeśa Pañcaratna Stotram, composed by Ādi Śaṇkarācārya.
Throughout the performance, the dancers communicate the meaning of this powerful hymn through their gestures, movements, and expressions. They bring Śrī Gaṇeśa’s various attributes and qualities to life, and through their art we are able to see his energy come to life in front of us. We actually start to experience that we are seeing him directly in front of us.
Before you watch, take a moment to center yourself and quiet your attention. Let yourself receive the mantras as well as the dance at all levels of your being. When you are finished, you may want to take a moment to sit quietly and reflect.
