The following śloka, a verse, is a popular short prayer to Gaṇapati. It honors his power and asks for his blessings, and for the removal of obstacles.

Before chanting, take a comfortable but upright and attentive posture. Center your attention and energy. Visualize Śrī Gaṇeśa as you listen and chant.

Gaṇeśa Śloka

वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटिसमप्रभा |

निर्विघ्नम् कुरु मे देव सर्व कार्येषु सर्वदा ||

vakratuṇḍa mahākāya sūryakoṭisamaprabhā |
nirvighnam kuru me deva sarva kāryeṣu sarvadā ||
O Lord of the curved trunk and who has a great body, your effulgence is like a million suns.

Please, always remove all the obstacles from all the actions I perform.
