Posture in sacred art is an immensely important way to convey teachings and insight. Whether the deity is sitting, standing, raising a leg, bending – each of these things will help you understand how a particular deity’s presence and energy moves through our world.
In this lesson, we will learn a little bit about postures in general, and what they convey. And, we will discuss some reasons why Śrī Kṛṣṇa has his unique, graceful, cross-legged stance. In fact, he’s the only deity in the entire canon to stand that way! What does that mean? What can we learn from this?
